National Practice Nursing Survey
The Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) is conducting a survey of nurses working in general practice. This information assists in planning for the provision of ongoing support for practice nurse recruitment, retention and professional development. The 2009 survey has been designed as a web based survey in response to feedback

All nurses employed at general practices within Bayside
General
Practice Network boundaries are invited to register with the
network
to ensure they receive support and assistance from the
Practice
Nurse Program Coordinator. Membership offers benefits such
as
information on current activities, access to professional
development events and opportunities for scholarships and
courses.
Bayside General Practice Network collaborates with Monash
Division of General Practice to offer regular small group
learning sessions, held at either site. The Network is an active
member of
the Southern Metropolitan Division of General Practice,
Nursing in
General Practice group. This liaison enables us to provide
regular
opportunities for networking and continual professional
development
on a larger scale, with excellent resources.
We also offer support and opportunities to network
practice
nurses through personal practice visits by our Program
Coordinator
and regular updates via email, newsletter, fax and phone. When
joining the network, nurses are supported by the Network
Nurse
Program Coordinator with personal practice visits,
orientation
information and the offering of resources and
information.
Practice Nurses Small Group Learning
The Network offers practice nurses the opportunity to
attend and
participate in regular meetings with their peers in a small
group
environment. These meetings offer an opportunity for peer
interaction and problem solving, as well as continuing
professional
development support on issues relevant to nurses working
within the
general practice environment.
