About Us
Networks or Divisions of General Practice provide a corporate identity for general practice at the local level and serve to improve population health outcomes and services. There are 116 networks across Australia and they are largely funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing to deliver local health solutions through general practice. The Bayside General Practice Network forms part of the Australian General Practice Network is the peak national body representing General Practice networks and the eight state based organisations around the country.
The Bayside General Practice Network is governed by a Board which is made up of eight members including two directors who are not General Practitioners. By providing an organisational infrastructure to support over 200 primary members within its boundaries we serve the following post codes : Aspendale, Aspendale Gardens, Beaumaris, Black Rock, Braeside, Brighton, Brighton East, Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Cheltenham, Dingley, Edithvale, Hampton, Highett, Mentone, Mordialloc, Parkdale, Sandringham, and Springvale South. BGPN interfaces with the two local government cities of Bayside and Kingston to support a population of 181691.

The Bayside General Practice Network's mission is to continuously improve quality of General Practice and the health of the local community.
Vision
Bayside General Practice Network will support General practice to:
- Achieve better health outcomes for the community;
- Promote the GP as the clinical coordinator of patient care;
- Embrace a system approach to the delivery of primary health care;
- Access ingoing professional development and collegiate networking.
Goals
- Quality: To assist GPs and practices to continuously improve the quality of the care provided to patients that is evidence based.
- Practice capability: To build practice capability and capacity to delivery high quality multidisciplinary care.
- Practice population health:To support general practice to manage their practice population in a systematic and long term manner.
- Management:To effectively govern and manage the Network and its resources
